Sponsoring a child is a way to connect with a child, separated by miles but connected by love. Children love to ask us the name of their sponsor, they love to color pages for their sponsors and they feel 10 feet tall when they receive a letter or a package from their sponsor. They receive HOPE knowing that someone miles away loves them and cares about them. It’s a priceless gift to see a child’s face when they get a letter and picture from their sponsor or to witness the pride they feel when they meet their sponsor.

In Haiti it is a privilege to go to school. Most families can’t afford to send their child to school without being sponsored. To have a child plead with you to sponsor them so that they can go to school is a humbling thing. Something that we take for granted is a gift beyond measure to them.
We are excited to announce that effective October 1, 2013 we are starting our own Christian School in Balan, WALKING IN THE REIGN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. The school will serve 375 students grades Pre-school through 12th grade. This is an exciting opportunity for the ministry to impact children in Haiti with the gospel on a daily basis. Our school will provide a christian education, feed children 5 days a week, provide books for students to get a quality education, and give us an opportunity to impact the lives of the children in a more hands on way.
Until then, we currently sponsor two primary schools (Preschool through 6th grade): Ecole Armee Du Salut Balan (Salvation Army) and College Chretien DeBonnette and we sponsor youth to continue their education in Secondary Schools (6th grade through 12th grade).
All the children in our sponsorship program are children that we have personally met (or will meet).
The cost to sponsor a child for primary or secondary education is just $15/month.
Below is a list of what your sponsorship will provide your child and what you will receive.
How to Sponsor a child
- To sponsor a child go to walkinginthereign.com and click GIVE. You will be redirected to our donation page.
- Chose one of three options for sponsoring a child: Ecole Armee Du Salut Balan, College Chretien DeBonnette or Secondary Education.
- Click on the appropriate option: Add donation to cart
- After you are finished, click your cart in the upper right hand corner and securely check out.
- We will be notified and will get you matched to a child in our program.
- Within 3 weeks you will receive a photo of your sponsored child.
- On the first of the following month you will receive an invoice via email. Your invoice can be paid online directly through the email or you can mail a check payable to Walking in The Reign to 6505 E. Central, #139 Wichita, KS 67206.
- You will continue to be matched to your child until you cancel your sponsorship. We will notify you and reassign you to a different child if your child is no longer in our program due to circumstances beyond our control.
What will your sponsorship provide your child?

- New uniform material
- A meal 5 days per week (currently only at Ecole Armee Du Salut Balan)
What will you receive?
- You will receive via mail a photo of the child you are sponsoring.
- We will provide you with their name and what class they are in.
- We will post updated pictures on our website of your child.
- You will have the opportunity to go to Haiti for a Mission Trip to visit your child every summer.
Can I choose the child I sponsor?
We prayerfully match you to a child and are asking God to hand chose the child we match you with.
Can you send gifts?
It is our desire that once a year you will have the opportunity to send a zip lock bag filled with gifts for your sponsored child. Information about opportunities to send gifts to your child will be emailed to you.
Can I write to my sponsored child?
We encourage you to write to your sponsored child often. They love receiving letters and pictures from their sponsors. You can find out details on our “For our Sponsors Link”.
